Gestational Weight Gain and Its Relation to Maternal, Fetal and Neonatal Sequelae: A Future Dilemma

OBJECTIVES This study aimed to determine the frequency of women with gestational weight gain (GWG) from recommended values in pregnancy and establish association GWG mode delivery (vaginal (VD), instrumental delivery(ID), cesarean section(CS) neonatal outcomes( low birth (LBW), APGAR score, macrosomia, stillbirth (SB) intensive care unit admissions(NICU). METHODOLOGY The prospective was done Department Obstetrics & Gynaecology LRH Peshawar. A total 140 were included this by non-probability consecutive sampling technique. Those congenital anomalies having known medical disorders excluded. Ethical approval Informed consent obtained before examination. Data collected analysed on SPSS version 22.RESULTSThe mean age 29.4 ± 5.1 years. first trimester BMI sample 25.2 3.4kg/m2, while 3rd 27.7± 2.3 kg/m2. recorded 52 (37.1%) women. calculated be 12.9 kg 2.5. Mode VD 60(42.9%) women, ID 50 (35.7%), CS 30(21.4%0) LBW 15(10.7%), score 32(22.9%), macrosomia 14(10%), SB 12 (8.6%) NICU admission 39(27.9%). CONCLUSION is common pregnant women; however, there no statistically significant between or outcomes.
